In roadstead transshipment point # 2, 19,800 tonnes of granulated solvent cake were loaded aboard Hongxin Ocean by the efforts of Mykolaiv River Port using three floating cranes. The draught of the loaded vessel was 7.88 meters. This is the first vessel with a draught over 7.6 meters to be processed at RTP-2.
As a result of the joint work of the specialists of Ukrrichflot JSSC with the Capitan’s Service of Mykolaiv Sea Port, Delta-Lotsman (a branch of SPAU SE), Derzhgidrografiya SA to agree upon and install navigation equipment on a natural navigation pass south of the second sweep of the water zone duct of Mykolaiv Port, it is now possible to service vessels with the maximum draught of 8.5 meters at RTP-2.
The consolidation of shiploads is going to let cargo owners optimize their costs per tonne of cargo being transported, which, in its turn, is going to increase the competitiveness of Mykolaiv River Port in terms of transshipment service provision.
Today, the vessel handling rate for one floating crane at RTP-2 in Mykolaiv River Port is 1,900 tonnes daily.
